6030: Public Appearances of Students in ESU 4 Programs
ESU 4's relationships with the larger community are enhanced when student groups appear at community functions. The unique needs of contracted can also be served through the students' participation in community functions. Therefore, the board encourages ESU 4 programs to arrange for student groups to appear at public events, as appropriate, subject to the following requirements:
- Staff must secure the permission of their program administrator before booking a student group at a public event.
- Student groups may not perform on more than one school night (Sunday-Thursday) per week.
- Student groups may not appear at a political rally without permission from the ESU 4 administrator and prior notice to parents.
- The policies and rules that apply to field trips also apply to student group appearances in public.
