6010.1: Special Education - Educational Service Agency
ESU 4 is an educational service agency as that term is defined by Section 001.0212 of Rule 55 of the Nebraska Department of Education. The Service Unit is not responsible for providing special education directly to students and provides services to the member school districts only on a consultative and contract basis.
The Service Unit will endeavor to assist its member districts in following the rules and protocols created by the Nebraska Department of Education and the United States Department of Education in identifying, evaluating, verifying and serving students who may be entitled to rehabilitation or special education services.
