Job Title: Teaching and Learning Team Specialist
Minimum Requirements:
- 5 years teaching experience
- Valid Nebraska teaching/administrative certificate (Masters degree preferred)
- Knowledge of integrating technology into the classroom for effective teaching and learning
- Knowledge of effective instruction, curriculum, and assessment practices
- Understanding of the Continuous School Improvement Process including: data analysis, problem-solving, goal setting, and action planning
- Effective interpersonal, presentation, and facilitation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours when necessary
- Valid Nebraska driver’s license and the ability to drive to meet the requirements of the job
Reports to: ESU 4 Administrator
Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of ESU 4 Board Policies and Procedures and as determined to be appropriate.
Essential Functions:
- Leads adults in the learning process
- Work with teachers and students on a variety of projects/topics
- Provide services to member schools in the areas of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and continuous improvement.
- Understanding of the Continuous School Improvement Process including: data analysis, problem-solving, goal setting, and action planning
- Digitally document processes and training for future reference
- Assist schools in the formation of district mission and vision statements
- Ability to learn, manage and present on multiple topics including educational technology
- Model effective teaching practices
- Communicate with ESU, NDE, and school district personnel in a variety of modes
- Maintain current knowledge and awareness of specialized topics such as Career & Technical Education, social studies, Social-Emotional & Behavioral Learning, student events, issues related to curriculum, instruction, assessment, and continuous improvement.
- Attend meetings related to the role and responsibility of the ESU 4 Teaching and Learning Team (ESUPDO Affiliates, NDE, ESU 4 content cadres, etc.)
- Keep up-to-date with state and federal requirements
- Assist with the supervision of the Teaching and Learning Team Assistant
- Work as a team member with ESU 4 and school district staff
- Support ESU 4’s mission and vision
- Attend and present at professional development workshops and conferences
- Manage federal grants such as the ESU 4 Perkins consortium
- Understand and comply with ESU 4 Board of Education Policies and ESU 4 Staff Handbook
- Adhere to regular and dependable attendance
- Other duties as assigned
Work Environment: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
- Frequent sitting, driving, and standing
- Frequent travel to area schools with home base at Educational Service Unit 4
- Occasional prolonged and irregular hours
- Occasional overnight travel to functions related to role and responsibility
- Constant repetitive hand motions with prolonged use of a computer
- Occasional walking, climbing stairs, bending/stooping, and/or reaching/pushing/pulling
Salary and Contract:
- Salary commensurate with education and experience
- 220 day school year contract
