Sara grew up around the world as the daughter of an Air Force officer. She graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a degree in Anthropology and all Pre-Health requirements met. Sara has volunteered during the summers at NCECBVI since 2003 and became a full time staff member in 2012. She spent a few years working in the NCECBVI residential program and in 2017 finished her Master of Science from Salus University as well as becoming a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) through the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Educational Professionals (ACVREP).
Most recent, Sara was awarded the Karen Markussen Scholarship 2017 and was nominated as POSB Outstanding Residential Life Staff Member 2017.
