Ben E. Hanika is a Google for Education Certified Trainer, and the Technology Integration Specialist for ESU 4, which serves Otoe, Nemaha, Johnson, Pawnee, and Richardson counties in Southeast Nebraska. Ben provides professional learning experiences for educators in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and technology integration.
Prior to joining the ESU 4 Team, Ben served as a Band Director for 13 years in Nebraska, and he most recently served as the grades 5-12 Band Director at Auburn Public Schools.
Ben earned is Master of Science in Education Degree (Instructional Technology) from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2011. He earned his Bachelor of Music in Education Degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2003. Ben has regularly served on Technology Committees and School Improvement Committees in the school districts that he has served, and has regularly been a presenter at Professional Development Days. He has also been a part of implementing 1:1 learning initiatives with various devices.
Ben enjoys spending time with his family. His wife, Sarah, is a Science teacher in Auburn Public Schools. They have a son, Joey, and three dogs: Archer, Bourbon, and Sunny. Ben and his family enjoy the outdoors, gardening, cooking, traveling, music, and attending Kansas City Chiefs Football games.
