Audrey grew up in a small town in Nebraska and continues to choose Nebraska as her home. She received her first teaching degree from Wayne State College with a focus on special education. In 1999, she started teaching at Plattsmouth High School as a special education teacher. After earning her Master's Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska-Omaha, she decided to make a change in careers in 2005 which led her to the Nebraska Center for the Education of Children who are Blind or Visually Impaired (NCECBVI). She also obtained her Endorsement in Visual Impairments from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2010. In 2015, Audrey received the Council of Schools and Services for the Blind's Principal/Director of Programs Leadership Award. Audrey has a true passion in helping students achieve their highest potential in every aspect of their lives. 

Audrey lives in Nebraska City with her son, Ethan, who is a freshman at Nebraska City High School. Ethan is an outstanding student who is active in many activities including band (percussion), cross country, basketball, and soccer. Audrey enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being active, and loves to travel. She is also a 13 year breast cancer survivor and is actively involved in the American Cancer Society and First Descents.
